Job description
Who are we?
We are a specialised, small consultancy and project management company (www.epiconsulting.co.uk) with major, corporate clients in UK, USA and Asia, making a real difference in managing sustainable global supply chains. We provide consulting support, web development and delivery of business software that analyses business efficiency in all areas of business sustainability (www.epidgital.co.uk). We also operate and manage systems for corporates, who, in turn, monitor and audit supply chains around the world, typically in manufacturing and related services markets. We are a dynamic and growing business with rapidly growing demand for our services in 2023.
The role:
Due to expansion of our activity within the telecoms and electronics sectors, we are looking to increase our team strength in providing remote client management and support, by managing and overseeing the international administration of supplier sustainability audit processes and reporting. As such, we are looking to add a new Client Support Co-ordinator member to our team.
After the appropriate training, you will become the main point of contact for a number of clients, where you will have regular video calls to discuss progress, help with any issues and advise them on managing their audit processes - developing client care and relationships is key (this is not a sales role). You would be advising on the process around audits e.g. how often, how to schedule, how to use the audit platform - a detailed technical understanding of what is involved within audits is not required (that is for the auditors, not us).
Throughout the year, we have regular reporting obligations which is split amongst the team and so, after full training, you too would take on some of the reporting. Reporting will require report running on our online system and some manipulation in Microsoft Excel, and so we are looking for someone with good excel skills.
In addition to the above, our team also provides project accounting and analysis support. Ideally, we would also like you to help with this – for example aiding client purchase order creation, creating customer invoices, running reports etc. Again, full training will be given, including training on our cloud-based accounting tools. However, any current experience of an online accounting tool (e.g. Kashflow, Sage, Quickbooks) would be an advantage.
Full training will be provided on all of the systems
This new team resource will be expected:
- To operate our systems to help oversee the supplier audit process operation
- To liaise with our world-wide clients and their suppliers and auditors, both verbally (via video calls) and written, as required
- To liaise with our client at the client senior management level
- To provide analysis and MI reporting as required within our programmes
- Ideally, to also help with project accounting and analysis.
The ideal person would have:
- A minimum of five years business experience in business systems and/ or operations in a corporate and supply chain management environment. (Involvement in sustainability best practice in business an advantage)
- Good written and spoken English. Additional language capabilities an advantage
- Good spreadsheet and data analysis skills – particularly Microsoft Excel
- Client facing and back-office management experience would be an advantage.
- Experience of using web systems and management accounting systems an advantage.
This role would suit:
- Someone who is self-motivated and natural team player
- A quick learner
- An enthusiastic and people-oriented communicator
- Someone who takes responsibility for their own workload
- And is highly organised with outstanding attention to detail
You may be someone looking for a flexible work/life balance or you may, for example, be on a family career break and looking to restart a career. Our team is East Midlands based but has worked for over ten years successfully as a fully home based team, based across the country. For team communications we would ask you to attend occasional management and team meetings.
Ideally you would be able to spread your hours, as required by your workload / client meetings, across 5 days a week (Mon – Fri) but the minimum hours could potentially be done over 3 days a week. If required you could sometimes work slightly different hours/days on different weeks. However, hours must be completed within office hours, this is not an evening or weekend job.
Opportunities exist for those wishing to participate in and develop skills in strategic consulting and analysis around best practice in global sustainability initiatives.
Flexible hours are offered, based on a minimum of 20 hours per week, with opportunity to take on work packages up to 37.5 hours per week as new projects are launched.
