Our client is a UK-based DevOps cloud consulting business that has been acquired by a 4 billion+ revenue software and consulting vendor. It is now part of a global team of around 400 people focused on Cloud Infrastructure and Application Transformation and helping large financial services enterprises get more from their cloud presence. The client has an onshore approach and works as an extension of their client's teams, working in a highly collaborative fashion.
The client has a major account with one of the large retail banks in the UK and they are looking for a client partner to work exclusively with that client. The position can be based anywhere in the UK but it is expected the candidate will spend considerable time with the client's team.
The Role…
Our client is looking for an experienced Account Director / Client Partner to join their sales team and manage existing customer relationships in the Enterprise Financial Services and Insurance sector.
The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate the ability to think strategically about business, product and technical challenges, with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions.
The role reports to their Sales Director and the successful candidate will work closely with members of the wider team on strategic initiatives and business development opportunities.
A background in selling IT professional services in the financial services and insurance sector would be advantageous.
The experience you’ll need…
- Previous experience working in a business development role, within an IT services business.
- Experience of selling into the enterprise financial services and insurance vertical market.
- Advanced sales skills to identify opportunities and develop client relationships.
- Strong track record of consistently exceeding targets and key performance metrics.
- Ability to engage and influence senior executives.
- Strong verbal, written and presentation communications skills are essential, as well as the ability to work effectively across internal and external organisations.
- Technical qualification is not mandatory, but the candidate will need to be sufficiently well versed in technology to determine client needs and sell solutions to meet these needs. A basic

- Ability to complete assignments within tight and often difficult deadlines.
- Must be open to occasional regional travel
- Promote my client's value proposition to existing clients – principally large enterprise financial services and insurance customers who are seeking to migrate to the Cloud.
- Develop strong relationships with sales counterparts from their key vendor partners including AWS and Microsoft.
- Maintain our CRM and produce accurate sales forecasts.
- Co-ordinate and manage the appropriate pre-sales support for new sales opportunities.
- Ensure high standards of conduct and professionalism are maintained in all dealings with clients.
