The opportunity
The Client Executive is responsible for delivering exceptional client service (ECS) to our Private Equity clients by understanding their key Investment criteria and leveraging the firm’s capabilities to support them as they identify, invest, transform and exit businesses. Aligning with portfolio management/fund teams to support the “value creation journey” and driving new business opportunities to grow revenue, across all EY solutions, and to deepen customer relationships.
Your key responsibilities
- Initiate, build and sustain exceptional client relationships to the most senior levels of the organisation at both fund and portfolio .
- Delivering global Total Engagement Revenue (TER) results as well as personal sales and pipeline targets. Spending approximately 80% of his/her time leading by example by being externally focused and engaging with the client and delivering exceptional client experience.
- Acting as a proxy for the Global Client Relationship Partner (GCSP) both internally and externally with the client(s).
- Global account strategy and sales leadership: Drives revenue, sales and relationships on multiple key accounts.
- Ability to think laterally and to bring together teams X-capability and X-geography teams in order to solve complex client issues.
- Opportunity Management – act as a strategic advisor to the GCSP and account team on global pipeline execution, review/plan deal review and negotiation strategies.
Supervision Responsibilities:
- Line management responsibility for Account Managers where appropriate.
Other Requirements:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with C Suite stakeholders and Functional Leaders.
- Build strong rapport with the GCSP and collaborate with Partners across all SLs.

Ability to build high-impact senior relationships quickly and sustain them. Expert client management and client relationships skills.
- Strong change agent skills. The ability to flex personal style as required.
- Strong ability to focus on commercial outcomes that align with the interests of our clients. Strong knowledge of current and emerging sales tools, methodologies and go-to-market (GTM) models including social media. Leading and credible social media profile.
- Very good business knowledge/interest with an ability to credibly engage with clients across a range of topics and craft EY solutions to support them
- Strong Executive presence. Expert influencing skills. Solid understanding of the marketplace/industry, competitive and account information.
- Ability to team with and influence technical partners to formulate the best strategy to serve the client.
- Ability to bring new ideas and innovation to deliverables with a strong focus on transformative digital, operational and people solutions.
- Strong ability to collaborate and build effective teams and when needed to handle and resolve conflict.
To qualify for the role you must have
- Significant business development experience in the professional services and solutions arena. A proven record of selling complex services and solutions. Some experience of working within the Private Equity sector would be an advantage
- Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization
- Strong business/commercial acumen, experience of Transactions/M&A and an understanding of major industry sector trends
- Experience in delivering client-focused solutions based on customer needs
- Proven sound judgment and flexibility in balancing multiple project requirements, tight deadlines, and keeping people and projects moving on schedule, with high attention to detail
- University/Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required. Advanced degree preferred.
