Job description
We are looking for an enthusiastic Clerk to join our Audiology team. You will be responsible for various administrative systems that support the day to day running of our department. This will include time spent in our very busy Reception where you will juggle many tasks and, most importantly, act as the welcoming front face to our service. The majority of our patients are hearing impaired/Deaf so you will need to be an excellent communicator.
Further progression within the service may become possible in the future and training will be offered to support your development.
Reception duties.
Dealing with post.
Managing patient records.
Participation in booking system.
Excellent communicator, both verbal and written.
Good telephone skills.
Experience dealing with the public.
Experienced computer user.

Reception duties:
- To receive and book patients in for their appointments.
- To inform relevant clinicians when patients have arrived.
- To answer all telephone calls in a courteous, pleasant and timely manner and ensure that messages are passed on appropriate
- Opening post, sorting, actioning and distributing as appropriate.
- Send and receive ear moulds. Check and process related invoices received from the manufacturers.
- Send out batteries to GP surgeries and maintain electronic records.
- Responsible for organising paperwork and Hospital files for the paediatric clinics ensuring all letters and files are present.
- Participate in collating paperwork and undertaking checks (eg, presence of earmoulds, etc.) in preparation for clinics.
- Confirming patient attendance by phoning patients and families the day before booked appointments for certain appointment categories (to include Paediatric appointments and Hearing Therapy appointments)
