Job description
A vacancy has arisen for a part time Clerical Assistant/Receptionist to work within the busy Child Development Centre at Northampton General Hospital.
We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our team. The successful candidate will have a flexible and positive attitude, be methodical, committed team player, able to work under pressure, meet deadlines and have excellent customer services skills as this is a patient facing role.
An eye for detail is essential along with good IT skills.
The successful candidate must have experience in a clerical or receptionist role.
The post holder will provide efficient clerical and receptionist duties, working as part of a team within the Child Development Centre. Duties will include providing a reception service to patients, relatives/carers and all staff groups and demonstrating a high standard of customer care. The provision of day-to-day administrative support to the CDC team, dealing with incoming and outgoing mail, typing, filing, telephone calls and other administrative duties.
The post holder will work as part of the administrative team and is required to provide cross-cover during periods of absence within that team

Reception duties which includes imputing on NGH clinical systems, answering telephone calls and face to face contact.
Deal with enquiries and take appropriate actions.
Distribution of confidential written reports.
File letters and reports in medical notes.
Assist the Lead Administrator with typing when required.
Liaise and assist in requesting information from internal professionals and from other external organisations.
Receive and sort daily post, date stamp and distribute.
Photocopying, scanning, and posting documentation.
Update confidential patient information on clinical systems.
Assisting with diary management.
Provide any other general administrative services as required by the department.
