Job description
The English Language Teaching Centre (ELTC) is a section within Academic Programmes and Student Engagement (APSE) responsible for the provision of language courses and language support to international students. We are one of the largest university English language centres in the UK, accredited by the British Council and authorised by Cambridge English as an examination centre.
You will join a large team responsible for the administration of ELTC courses and services. Your main responsibility will be to assist the team with processing the significant number of applications and emails we receive relating to our summer school programmes. As this role involves significant student interaction with those whose first language is not English, you will need excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
We are seeking candidates with 5 GCSE passes at Grade C or above or grade 4 or above including English or equivalent as well as a high level of IT literacy to include experience of Microsoft Office packages, email and internet. You will also need excellent customer service skills along with the ability to quickly and effectively respond to a variety of queries.
