Job description
We need a Cleaning Supervisor to help ensure that the school is a safe, secure, well-maintained, pleasant working environment which is welcoming to students, staff and visitors alike. The post holder is part of the Site Management team and will lead a team of cleaners, ensuring that a high standard of work is achieved.
The normal rostered hours of work will by 3.45pm to 8pm Monday to Friday during term time and on staff training days (39 weeks). There are also 5 weeks of work during the school holidays which are worked during the mornings/afternoons. Overall the post is for 935 hours a year.
Main Responsibilities- Allocate work areas for the cleaning team during the holidays/staff training days taking in support of programme of works put in place for the school.
- Motivate and encourage cleaning staff to do a good job, and lead by example.
- Monitor the work of the cleaning team.
- Ensure that the monitoring of cleaning standards is carried out and liaise with school departments in the event of complaints regarding cleaning standards. Address any concerns with the member of the cleaning staff, as appropriate.
- Discuss any concerns with the Site Manager where serious or persistent problems arise with the work performance of members of the team.
- Supervisory experience
- Qualified First Aider or willingness to undergo First Aid Training
- Effective communication skills
