Job description
We are currently welcoming applications for cleaning vacancies available at the University of Plymouth. Under the direction of the Cleaning Supervisor, you will be part of the team that is responsible for the provision of an efficient and customer focused cleaning service across a diverse range of University facilities.
As a cleaner you will be helping contribute to the overall student experience, by creating a clean and welcoming environment throughout the university.
You will be expected to have good customer service skills and be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, a basic level of computer knowledge would also be advantageous.
You will have an awareness of manual handling skills and a reasonable degree of physical fitness as you will be required to move, lift, use and carry cleaning equipment, supplies and waste bags.
We have various shift patterns which vary depending on the position you are appointed and are subject to the business need, however you are welcome to indicate a preference to a particular shift pattern (outlined below).
- Monday to Friday, 06:00-09:00 or 06:30 – 09:30, 15 hrs per week (with a requirement to work occasional Saturdays)

A successful external candidate for this position would be employed by the University of Plymouth Services Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of the University of Plymouth.
