Cleaner/ Handyperson
Job Purpose:
To ensure that all areas of the YMCA buildings are cleaned to a high standard and to carry-out repairs and decorations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- To liaise with the team of cleaners and maintenance to carry-out daily tasks.
- To ensure ample supplies of cleaning materials, etc are available and, if required, notify Line Manager if reordering is necessary.
- To sort out any minor maintenance issues which occur from time to time within our buildings and to report any major problems to the Facilities Manager.
- To clean corridors, stairs, residents’ common areas, toilets/showers/bathrooms, offices, kitchens, function rooms and the facilities in the Showroom Complex.
Person Specification:
- Previous experience in a commercial or similar accommodations environment is desirable. Alternatively, a demonstration of an understanding of the requirements of the role gained from a personal perspective, or in a volunteering or other context.
- Understanding of the appropriate cleaning materials for any given tasks.
- An understanding of appropriate methods for the disposal of waste materials and fluids.
- Ability to prioritise own work in keeping with agreed norms and to be self-managing to ensure delivery.
Salary: Grade A1; £18,596 per year (pro rata’d for part-time posts)
Hours: Full-time 37.5hrs/ week; or 2x Part-time 20 hrs/ week posts
