Birmingham City University is a large diverse place to study right in the heart of the city and we currently looking for a part time cleaner to join our team. Accommodation Services is committed to assisting students in their transition from home to university life. This role will suit someone with cleaning and customer service skills, and who is looking to make a positive difference to a students experience at Birmingham City University.
You will be responsible for providing a high quality cleaning service at University Locks, the University managed 659 bed halls of residence located on the city centre campus.
The main responsibilities of the role are:
- daily cleaning of all communal areas of the halls of residence
- cleaning of bedrooms, kitchens and bathrooms as required
- assist with the summer cleaning requirements
- assist during arrival and departure weekends and University Open Days and Applicant Visit Days (this will include some late night and weekend working)
The key requirements of the role are:
- trained to BICS Standard or NVQ Cleaning qualification is desirable
- experienced in the safe use of all types of cleaning equipment
- awareness of health and safety issues and the need for safe methods of working
- awareness of COSHH regulations
- must be flexible to meet the needs of the business, including increased hours to cover absence
