Empowering Learning are working with an outstanding school in the DE21 area of Derby. The school are looking to appoint a classroom teaching assistant to work on a full time basis. The hours of work will be 08:30-16:00 Monday to Friday.

The school are looking for someone who:

• Has at least one years experience working within a school
• Holds a relevant degree or a TA qualification
• Can build relationships with SEN children
• Experience of supporting pupils with additional needs
• Is an excellent team player
• Is capable of working on their own

The main duties within the role will be:

• Supporting the class teacher with the teaching and learning in the class
• Leading academic interventions with children working below age expected levels
• Working on a 1:1 basis with pupils with additional needs
• Helping the class teacher set up and prepare lessons
• Liaising with the school SENCO around progress of pupils with EHCPs
