About the role and our team
Join our team as a Class Teacher at Onchan Primary School!
Within this role, you’ll teach all areas of the primary curriculum within Key Stage Two, working closely with our team who work hard to ensure pupils achieve their goals.
For the remainder of this academic year (April 2023 - July 2023) you will be in Year 6, with the option to work elsewhere within Key Stage 2 from September 2023 to April 2024, depending on your strengths and previous experience.
Day to day, your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and implementing agreed programmes of work
- Providing care and support for all pupils, being responsible for their welfare, discipline and health and safety
- Promoting the schools visions and values of Respect, Integrity, Courage, Endeavour and Compassion
In recent years we have developed our Blended Learning capacity to ensure our pupils are adept at using technology to assist learning both at home and at school, and we facilitate specific IT sessions within our IT suite.
We embrace learning in the outdoors and have developing our own "Forest School" outdoor area to enable pupils to have access to the advantages that this will bring. We also use SOLE (self organised learning environments) as a medium to encourage independent learning, the use of Big Questions to generate discussion and to allow pupils to apply their learning in different contexts.
We are looking for someone who has an understanding of how pupils learn and develop, and who’ll be a positive contributor to our school, whilst working creatively as part of our team.
