Cotteswold Dairy - a family business with 85 years’ history - are looking for a motivated and reliable driver to join the haulage team at the Cheltenham Depot. The successful applicant will have a clean UK driving licence Category C or above, with a passion to learn and develop; and experience of - or a willingness to work - night shifts, weekends and bank holidays
Class 2 HGV Driver: Training

Our dedicated Learning & Development co-ordinator supports our Trainee HGV programme, NVQ programmes and academic progression; our Internal Trainer runs frequent practical FLT and PPT courses throughout the year
The Class 2 HGV Driver Role
As a representative of Cotteswold Dairy, quality and customer service will be at the heart of this position. We would be pleased to consider applicants who are newly qualified, and the company offers progression opportunities for individuals who demonstrate reliability and competence within the Class 2 position
Key duties will include:
- Safely driving an appropriate vehicle in line with your licence category, remaining courteous at all times while delivering excellent customer service and building good customer relationships
- The punctual delivery of dairy and dairy related products to semi-retail customers on intensive multi-drop rounds, observing stock rotation and conducting your duties to the highest standards
- Being a team player, prepared to cover holiday and sickness periods; along with the ability to work well alone, problem solving on the road
Working Hours †
Full time, 48 hours per week (rostered average). Night-time hours through to morning as required over seven days per week on a rota basis. In order to comply with the Working Time Directive, this will be averaged out over a period of 26 weeks
Start times vary based on the individual rounds, however most rounds commence between 1100 and 0200. As with most driving roles, this position is job + finish.

IMPORTANT - This physically active role involves working nights, and requires manual handling
You will have a positive attitude, and have a keen eye for detail; be reliably able to commute to work at the shift times indicated, and be flexible to work the full shift pattern
