We are looking for a day shift Class 2 Driver, who will be responsible for collection/delivery of trailers to Howdens Depots. Ensuring all documentation, driving and company procedures are adhered to in a professional and courteous manner. The role will be based in Basingstoke and will offer a salary of A salary of £35,000 per annum.

KEY ACTIVITES
Driving

• Complete deliveries and collections where appropriate.
• Ensure all Legal and Company driving standards are adhered to.
• Maintain required fuel consumption targets and ECO driving scores as set by the operation.
• Ensuring designated route and times in compliance with the customer’s plan.
• Escalating any issues or problems which may affect delivery or collection via Stop, Call, Wait (SCW) to the Traffic office without delay.

Compliance

• Ensure all legal requirements are followed relating to items such as
• Tachograph Regulations
• Driving Regulations
• Customer \ Supplier Site Rules
• Working Time Directive
• Defect Reporting
• Vehicle Checks
• Load Security

Health & Safety

• Ensure all health and safety procedures are adhered to, including PPE, escalating any concerns to your line manager at the earliest opportunity.
• Ensure all equipment checks are carried out in accordance with procedure, raising any defects to your line manager.

Documentation/Records

• Ensure all required documentation and records are accurately recorded and signed as appropriate to ensure management and tracking of stock, etc

To be considered as a Class 2 Driver, you will need:

• A full, valid driving Class 2 licence
• A maximum of six points on your licence (excluding BA, CD, DD, DR or DG codes)
• A valid DCPC qualification
• A valid Digital Tachograph card
• Excellent communication skills
• To be customer-focused
• To be able to work within a team environment
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• A flexible approach to your work and the ability to start at different times if necessary
