West Yorkshire Police Legal Services are looking to recruit a Road Traffic Claims Handler as part of our established in-house team. As a Claims Handler you will focus upon providing the best possible claims outcomes for West Yorkshire Police. Some of your core duties will include but not be limited to:-
- Handling a diverse portfolio of motor claims, pre-action and litigated, with the opportunity to develop in other
- Establishing relevant policy coverage and handling claims within delegated authority limits.
- Providing expert advice, technical analysis and support to facilitate the settlement of claims.
- Liaising with a variety of stakeholders and establishing and maintaining key client contacts.
- Establishing and maintaining electronic claim files; processing claims information and co-ordinating internal claims-related activities.
Eligible candidates will have excellent communication and presentation skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will need to be organised and work to tight deadlines, ensuring that you prioritise your own workload. You must also have basic knowledge of and the ability to operate computerised packages such as Microsoft Office, electronic case management systems and databases.
An ability and willingness to work flexibly in order to support the work of the Force and to travel for business purposes is essential.
