Brief Description
What will you be doing?
This is a 12 month fixed term/secondment opportunity based in Birmingham.
Salary: circa £25,000
The purpose of this role is to process infrastructure, slip and trip, employers liability, bridge strike, train operating company and other claims raised by and against the Routes, Territory and Areas to minimise the risk of loss and maximise recoveries.
Its a varied and busy role working with a range of internal stakeholders and external suppliers. You will need to build a network of contacts within the organisation in order to help you gather the evidence required to substantiate or defend claims. You will require an eye for detail, being able to review information, and organisation ensuring evidence and information relevant to the claim is filed in a way that is easily auditable.
This role includes speaking to members of the public as you will be the Network Rail point of contact for any claims they make.
About the role (External)
Some of your responsibilities will include:
1. Obtain evidence from across the business and external parties to support or defend claims.
2. Review the daily incident log.
3. Process infrastructure, slip and trip, employers liability, bridge strike, train operating company and other claims raised by and against the Routes, Territory and Areas in compliance with railway industry Claims Allocation and Handling Agreement (CAHA) and Network Rails claims procedures.
4. Utilise appropriate systems to support claims.
5. Manage the timely recovery of payments.
In order to be successful in this role, we would like you to have/to be:
- 2 years in an administrative role
We would also like but it isnt crucial to have/to be:
- Experience of working in a claims environment
- Experience of relevant claims and performance systems
- Understanding the railway industry and structure

Network Rail adheres to a structured pay framework, any salary offered will be within the pay range advertised.
Salary: Band 5, circa £25,000
