About the Opportunity
Jacobs has secured a long-term framework contract with Northumbrian Water in the northeast of England, and we are seeking skilled people to join our growing water team and deliver on the fantastic opportunities this presents.
These are exciting times to be involved in the water sector with major high-profile programmes of work to be delivered across the water and wastewater asset base in the years ahead. The water industry is facing some of the greatest challenges since privatisation and your role with Jacobs will help deliver enhanced customer and environmental outcomes and wider socio-economic benefits.
Our water and wastewater projects have sustainability at their core and are outcome-driven to protect the environment, reduce flood risk, improve water supplies and add value to our local communities.
We are seeking engineers with a Civil Engineering background who are looking to grow their careers in exciting new ways. Working as part of a supportive multi-disciplinary team your role will be key in helping our client to deliver innovative and efficient solutions to achieve best customer value and meet their environmental challenges.
Specifically, we have current opportunities to join our growing team in the north east of England, with vacancies at all levels in our Newcastle and Stockton offices. You will have the opportunity to work on technically interesting projects both regionally and nationally which also provides excellent opportunities for personal and professional development at all stages in your career. Here’s What You’ll Need:
You will ideally have mechanical engineering experience gained across a range of projects in a multi-disciplinary environment in the water sector. With a sound understanding of civil engineering principles and application, you will have:
- A degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering
- Chartered Engineer, or actively working towards chartership
- Up to date knowledge of current civil standards and specifications
- Good understanding of the CDM requirements
- Good understanding of the technical work undertaken in the water sector with experience in one or more of the following areas: Water and/or wastewater networks; Water and/or wastewater treatment works; Bioresources; Hydraulics; Mass water conveyance
- Enthusiasm to resolve problems and enjoy working as part of a large multi-national company.
- Worked within multi-disciplinary teams
- Experience in design management and coordination
- Proactive with a keenness to help strengthen client relationships and contribute to the growth of our business alongside an ability to work well collaboratively with both internally and external partners and sub-contractors
- Good verbal communication skills, and a positive attitude
