The hourly rate for this position is $32.68.

Under supervision, the Utility Engineer performs semi-skilled work in maintaining and repairing building related fixtures. Incumbents of this class perform semi-skilled work involving minor repair and maintenance of building systems, including plumbing, electrical fixtures, carpentry, door and window hardware, painting and cleaning responsibilities. General maintenance repairs to hotel and trouble calls. Public area and guest room preventative maintenance. Basic troubleshooting skills required (electricity, plumbing, etc.)

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Assembles and repairs furniture, and fixtures.

• Performs minor carpentry.

• Removes and installs window glass.

• Prepares and paints surfaces.

• Applies finishing to various surfaces.

• Performs minor door hardware repairs.

• Performs minor emergency repairs/adjustments to mechanical equipment such as replacing broken pipes, cleaning plugged drains, filters, and replacing faucets, washers and gaskets.

• Addresses minor electrical problems and reports findings to supervisor.

• Assists the Stationary Engineer in performing maintenance work as required.

• Performs related duties as assigned.
