We are seeking a Circulation & Customer Service Librarian to provide business information research and instructional support at the Sainsbury Library within the Said Business School.
As the Circulation & Customer Service Librarian, you will work under the direction of the Bodleian Business Librarian in the Sainsbury Library. Working closely with the Senior Information Librarian, and the entire team, you will provide excellent service and support to the students and faculty of the Said Business School, and the greater population of the University of Oxford. You will work individually, and collaboratively with the other members of the team, to direct the processes, services, and resources of the library. Within this role, you will be expected to take a leading role in providing and overseeing collection circulation, enquiry desk services, and assessment. You will be involved in every aspect of the Sainsbury Library, including the key areas of Information Research Support, Information Literacy, Resources Development and Review, Strategy & Policy Development and Review, Library Operations, and Professional Development.
You will have:
  • A postgraduate or professional qualification in Librarianship/Information Studies.
  • Experience in an academic library, or similar experience outside academia using business & financial databases and resources.
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills to support and collaborate with students and faculty.
  • The ability to multi-task and to manage a varied and busy workload, working both independently and as part of a team.
This is a full-time, permanent position, working 37.5 hours per week.
Whilst this is a Grade 7 role, we would consider candidates with potential but less experience who are seeking a development opportunity at Grade 6 (£30,502 - £36,386 per annum), with the duties and responsibilities adjusted accordingly and a development pathway agreed.

You will be required to upload your CV and a supporting statement as part of your online application. Your supporting statement should list each of the essential and desirable selection criteria, as listed in the job description, and explain how you meet each one. CV’s alone will not be considered.
