Responsibilities

This is an opportunity to join Refuge as Children’s Support Worker working closely with children and their mothers who are living in our refuges escaping domestic violence and other forms of violence and abuse. A key requirement is to provide personal welfare support and to ensure that women are provided with a safe, supportive and welcoming environment.

The job involves working closely with children and their mothers who are living in our refuges escaping domestic abuse and other forms of violence and abuse. A key requirement is to provide personal one to one and group support to children (0-16 years) to ensure they are provided with a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment through specialised trauma-informed work.

The post holder will support children who have witnessed or experienced domestic abuse. This will be achieved by providing a stimulating plan, a safe environment, and age-appropriate activities
