Job description

We have an exciting job opportunity for an experienced Senior Support Worker at an Ofsted-Registered Children's Residential Home in Harrow, London.

You would be joining a team of professionals delivering high quality care to three young service users with complex behaviour.

This is a rewarding opportunity to be a part of a specialist Therapeutic Children's Service looking to make a difference in the lives of young people.

This is a permanent, Full time Position.

NVQ level 3 in Children and Young People’s Services or Equivalent is ESSENTIAL.

Experience having worked in a leadership position at a Children's Residential Home is ESSENTIAL.

Salary:

£27,000-£31,000 initial salary based on experience
£31,900 - £35,900 with the required sleep in shifts (£50 a night, approximately 8 a month)

Schedule:

Full Time 40 hours per week

Day Shifts, Night Shift and Sleep in shift availability

Responsibilities:

Provide with children with a safe, therapeutic environment to help the child progress.
Manage the home effectively in the absence of the home or deputy manager.
Efficiently manage the home’s finances.
Manage health and safety procedures and risk assessments in the home.
Commit to the safeguarding and welfare of the children.
Be aware of the children’s rights, allowing them to share their voice.
Tend to the children’s individual needs
To quickly respond to any emergencies in the home, should they arise.
Engage, communicate, talk and listen to the children and young people.
To liaise with and be a point of contact with external organisations, (schools etc) where appropriate.
Assist with the preparation and scheduling of meetings where required, taking part and contributing to them also.
To work alongside psychologists to enable effective integration of care and therapy.
To lead the team in the absence of a deputy manager
Share in the practical activities necessary to maintain the home to the highest standard.
To adhere to the client’s model of practice and care procedures
To be able to take responsibility for own your own personal development.
