Compass Children’s Homes are currently recruiting for our home in the Southend area of Essex to work in a 6-bed home for children aged 8-17 with emotional and behavourial issues. Based in a beautifully set home converted to a high spec.
Your job role as a residential support worker will involve you working closely with children in care with you putting them at the centre of everything you do. Your day to day role will require you to support them in all aspects of their lives such as educational pursuits, hobbies and activities.
You will be part of the compass community of over 30 homes, you will be supported in your day to day job role by a friendly and supportive management team. We will supply you with extensive and relevant training to support you and ensure your career development.

What will I do as a Residential Support Worker?
- Using your experience and skills – further developed with our support and training, you will assist with the care of our children and young people.
- All of our homes adopt therapeutic practise, giving you the opportunity to develop into a specialist care provider. Training also includes reflective practise to consistently improve the way we care for children.
- You will create positive relationships with the children, meeting their needs and safeguarding them at all times.
- You will create timetables, setting boundaries and expectations for the young people. Consistency and organisation skills are key.
- You will meet a variety of children and young people, some of whom may require high levels of supervision and support

- Earn up to £24,460.80 (O.T.E) You may be required to occasionally do sleep-ins (£50 per sleep-in). We used structured pay grades, so salary is based on your training and experience so that you are always paid fairly.
