Job description
We're recruiting dedicated and compassionate Care Workers to join our Specialist Services Team to provide care to our client in Southend-On-Sea.
You'll be providing care and support to a 17 year old male, who's individual needs include:
- C6 tetraplegia (spinal cord injury)
- Intermittent catheterisation
- Care of a young person with spinal cord injury
- Care and management of a young person at risk of Autonomic Dysreflexia
- Close monitoring of pressure scores/ skin integrity
- Personal cares
- Moving and handling assist with transfers
- Assistance with feeding
- Intermittent catheterisation
- Bowel management - digital/manual evacuation
- Medication management
- Cough assist
- Basic life support
- Record keeping
Working hours available spread across 7 nights and days per week. Daytime working hours available are 7am - 6pm or 7am - 7pm, OR nighttime working hours available are 7pm - 7am or 10pm - 6am.
We provide a comprehensive clinical training and induction programme, overseen by professional nurses, to ensure you have the skills and confidence to succeed in your role working as a Care Worker in the Specialist Team.
We are looking for people who have excellent people skills, are great communicators and can work effectively in a team as well as independently.
We believe that homecare is a way of improving people's lives and within your role as a Care Worker you will be responsible for helping them to continue living the life they prefer to lead within their own home environment. Previous caring experience is an advantage, but not essential.
