About The Role
Hounslow Children’s Centres/Family Hubs support families by offering a range of universal and targeted services across the borough.
We are looking for two part-time receptionists to cover our Children’s Centres/Family Hubs. They will meet and greet families coming to our Children’s Centres/Family Hubs, enter registration/attendance information on to our database place orders for resources and help us to make sure that our buildings are welcoming to everyone who uses them. The successful candidates will have the opportunity to learn how to use our database and to benefit from our ongoing training programme.
The first post is part-time (21.6 hours per week), to be worked from 9.00am – 5.00pm on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays. This post will be based at Alf King Family Hub in Feltham, but the successful candidate would need to be prepared to work at any of our 7 Children’s Centres and 3 Family Hubs across the borough.
The second post is part-time (23 hours per week) to be worked from 9.00am – 3.00pm (with an hour for lunch) on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and 9.00am – 12.00pm on Fridays. This post will be based in the East (Brentford, Chiswick and Isleworth) and West (Bedfont, Hanworth and Feltham) Localities. The successful candidate would need to be prepared to work at any of our 7 Children’s Centres and 3 Family Hubs across the borough.

About The Team You’ll Be Working In
Hounslow Children’s Centres and Family Hubs provides services for children, young people age 0 – 19 (or 25 if a young person has a special educational need/disability) and their families. Some of these services are available to all families with children within a particular age group (for example stay and play session). Others are available to families who may be in need of extra support. We aim to be proactive in supporting our families and to work with partner organisations to provide seamless packages of support, so that children and young people can reach their full potential. You will be working alongside a team of practitioners who provide support to our families and will report to the Strategi Lead for Children’s Centres. About You
1. You will be able to use your customer service skills to work in a busy reception area and respond to competing demands. You will be able to deal sensitively with families of all backgrounds who come into the centre/family hub, who are facing challenging circumstances and are in need of support.
2. You will have the ability to communicate, both orally and in writing and the ability to be able to use Microsoft applications such as word and excel, as well as using databases to search for and record information.
3. You will be able to work with accuracy, always paying attention to detail.
4. You will enjoy working as part of a team and will be prepared to work flexibly – for example working across different venues across the borough.
