FearFree provides dedicated sexual violence, domestic abuse and stalking support services across the South-West. We are excited to be a launching a new sexual violence therapeutic service across Wiltshire and Swindon, providing dedicated support to children, young people and adults.
The Children and Young People’s Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ChISVA) will work within a multi-agency system to provide a proactive, person centred independent service for children, young people and their families who have been the victim of sexual violence and abuse, empowering choice through informed decision making. Key elements of the role include:
- Risk assessing and helping to keep service users safe (safety planning).
- Enabling victims to access statutory and other services.
- Delivering psychoeducational support sessions with a focus on safety and stabilisation.
- Tailoring work to the age of the young person.
- Supporting and co-facilitating group work if required.
In addition the role requires the building of effective relationships with other agencies that may support children and young people (such as schools and Children Services), developing referral pathways and creating outward facing information resources and campaigns to raise awareness and build confidence in reporting sexual violence.
The ChISVA will be required to work to the Lime Culture Quality Standards for services supporting victims/survivors of sexual violence.
This role will be based in either our Trowbridge or Swindon office, with expectation of paid travel across the area. FearFree supports staff to work flexibly and we operate hybrid working (working both remotely and in the offices).
