Job description
Fixed Term until 31 March 2024
37 hours per week (Term time only)
Are you an experienced Early Years professional, passionate about securing the very best outcomes for young children?
Would you like to play a crucial role in developing the quality of practice across a cluster of council-run Flying Start settings?
This could be the role for you!
As a result of the expansion of Early Years and Childcare services across Bridgend, an exciting opportunity to offer strategic leadership across a cluster of Flying Start settings has arisen. We wish to recruit an experienced, knowledgeable and pro-active early years professional, with successful leadership and management experience, to join our diverse and friendly team of early years specialists.
As a senior member of the Flying Start Team, you will act as the Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) statutory Responsible Individual for your designated settings and will be afforded the opportunity to work closely with setting managers in shaping and developing practice and provision of the highest-quality. An outstanding early years practitioner yourself, you will inspire the best in others and offer your team strong strategic leadership.
If you believe as strongly as we do in the importance of the Early Years and you are excited by this challenge, we want to hear from you. A discussion with our Flying Start Operational Manager, Lucy Jones, is warmly encouraged and easily arranged. Please contact [email protected] to ask any questions you have or to organise an appointment for an informal conversation.
The selection process will involve a visit to your current setting or a setting you have recently supported. Please ensure, before applying, that the headteacher or setting manager is happy for you to host our visit.
Applicants should be aware that this post will require travel throughout Bridgend and therefore a valid driving licence and the use of a car are a requirement of appointment.
Protecting children, young people and adults at risk is a core responsbility of all council employees.
Please note that a criminal record check by the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) will also be necessary for the successful applicant.
