Job Description & Person Specification for an HCPC / UKCP / BACP registered Child Psychotherapist or Creative Therapist (i.e. Art Therapy, Music Therapy, Drama Therapy) for the Apricot Centre
Wellbeing Service
JOB DESCRIPTION
To work by agreed contract (predefined costed interventions) and able to deliver:
● Specialist Assessments, including contributing to multidisciplinary assessments
● 1:1 Therapy with children, adolescents or adults - with a range of trauma and attachment informed intervention
● Therapeutic Parenting work
● Group Work with groups of young people or parent/carers
● Therapeutic work in nature-based environments (e.g. Biodynamic Farm)
● Hold or contribute to multi professional meetings and therapeutic reviews
● Write professional reports using the ACWS report templates and GSuite
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
● To work with the Service Manager and ACWS Leads to ensure that services are delivered professionally and within our external and internal contracts.
● To regularly keep up to date with service guidance through case supervision, updates and peer/team supervisions
● To attend Peer Supervision meetings at least 8 per year (or a time period of different level through agreement with management)
● To attend 1x annual review meeting to discuss the development of your role and practice
● To work within the code of ethics of your registered practice.
● To maintain a safe and healthy working environment for the young people - including working closely with ACWS safeguarding and child protection policies.
● To keep accurate, clearly written, understandable and up to date records of your work, communications, reviews, reports .
● To safely store and archive all therapeutic records in a confidential environment according to the ACWS information policies. This involves recording on our CRM system.
● To write reports where necessary for relevant third partie
● To work closely with GDPR processes developed within ACWS to gain explicit consent from our service users.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
● To ensure your professional qualifications, professional registration/s, extended DBS, professional insurance, and your Safeguarding and other mandatory Trainings are always up to date.
● Practitioner to hold self-employed status and to hold valid professional liability insurance cover at all times while working for ACWS.
● To have attended a Level 2 Safeguarding Training within the last 2 years
● To be familiar with and work according to ACWS’ codes of conduct, policies, procedures and the files on the young people.
● Unless there is an emergency, to complete all work pre agreed according to the timeframes and conditions of the intervention, unless a change is discussed and agreed formally with the service manager or coordinator.
● To work according to the pre-agreed rates and times agreed within each individual contract/intervention, and to raise with managers before the onset of work if the conditions are not satisfactory.
● To attend a minimum of 8 peer supervisions per annum while working directly with ACWS. If not working regularly to maintain a minimum of 4 peer supervisions per year. Also to maintain your own private clinical supervision at a minimum level of 1 supervision hour per 15 clinical hours of sessions.
● On request to provide us with an up to date record of your trainings, certifications, registrations and professional memberships, and any other information required to ensure you are fit to practice..
● To invoice monthly (unless otherwise agreed) for work undertaken.
REQUIREMENTS
● To apply for a disclosure at the enhanced level from the Criminal Records
Bureau.
● To maintain a confidential record of all sessions undertaken within 24 hours of each session, and to record and respond immediately to any safeguarding concerns.
