Supported Transitions
We offer support to young people when they are ready to move from residential care to the next chapter in their life. This could be moving back home, into foster care or progressing to independent living.
Areas We Cover
North East of England from our main office based in Sunderland.
North West of England from our Manchester office.
As a result of our continued success, ForeverCare are looking for Care Workers for our Sunderland homes.
The Role
· To actively promote the rights of the young people aged between 16 -18 Years of age as individuals and provide them with quality support in accordance with the policies and procedures of the organisation.
· To assist in the provision of a safe and homely environment both individually and as part of a team to help young people achieve their potential by strengthening areas of weakness and developing areas of strength.
· Support the young people who may displaying challenging behaviours from past trauma to be accepted within society through positive encouragement, engagement and pathways to achieve their potential.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
· Assist in the development of new techniques and approaches to supported living provisions
· Encourage development of individual interests and attitudes
· To promote, safeguard and protect the welfare of each person
· Develop positive and trusting relationships, that will promote their sense of security
· Provide firm, consistent and fair boundaries in respect of their behaviour
· Ensure that appropriate medical help is provided
· Assist Young People in the development and sustaining of positive social networks
· To assist in the provision/preparation of meals if required
· Undertake sleep in duties as appropriate

Ability to commute/relocate:
- Sunderland: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Experience:
- socialcare Worker: 1 year (required)
- juvenile support: 1 year (preferred)
