Due to the current post holder's success in securing an external promotion, EMAS has a vacancy for the next Child and Young Person Safeguarding Lead.
East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust (EMAS) continues to prioritise safeguarding as an essential part of providing high quality care. This is a permanent position, predominantly working from home with some requirement to travel across the East Midlands.
To work closely with the Head of Safeguarding and the Safeguarding team in supporting all activities necessary to ensure the Trust meets its responsibilities to Safeguard individuals.
To promote and safeguard the welfare of adults at EMAS NHS Trust through collaborative working with other agencies.
To work closely with the Head of Safeguarding to have operational responsibility monitoring safeguarding compliance and be accountable for ensuring all of the Trust’s safeguarding policies guidelines and procedures are robust and reflect national, regional and local policy.
To have operational responsibility and to contribute to the development and implementation of systems and processes for the protection of children and young people, working with partner agencies in line with statutory guidance, standards, and legislation.
To lead on multi-agency safeguarding work for the Trust, advising agencies such as social care and the police with regards to the Trust’s remit.
The role includes responsibility for safeguarding associated agenda’s including Domestic abuse, Child Exploitation, Honour based violence, Prevent, Female genital mutilation and Child Death.
On behalf of the Trust this role fulfils the role of lead for child death.
The Child and Young Person Safeguarding Lead is accountable to the Head of safeguarding for the delivery of the service by providing expert knowledge, skill and leadership across the Trust.
Operationally the post holder will be required to work office hours, Monday to Friday with scope to work flexibly with prior agreement with the team.
