Job description
We are seeking to appoint a Chief Executive for Sheffield Forgemasters, a Government owned, strategically important, heavy engineering firm. The CEO of SFM is a complex, challenging and unique role with the successful candidate taking on the leadership of a business, working closely with the shareholder, in an interesting and exciting period of growth, underpinned by a significant Government investment.
The CEO will lead SFIL through an ambitious transformation journey, with a substantial capital investment programme at its heart.
They will have the opportunity to lead and shape the delivery of one of the largest Government programmes and a ‘once in a lifetime’ opportunity to modernise a British global market leader, operating in strategically critical sectors.
Additionally, they will have the opportunity to steer the expansion and diversification of the business into exciting new clean energy and global non-defence markets
The appointee must have the following experience :
Be a proven Company CEO / Managing Director: Enterprise level or autonomous Divisional CEO experience. (Enterprise experience at minimum £50m. Divisional experience of £150m+).
Sector: Experience of operating within a relevant industry context with a similar operational business model and value levers; heavy industry manufacturing, process manufacturing, nuclear, aerospace, power generation etc.
Capable of securing SC level clearance (National security vetting: clearance levels - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk), by the MOD.
