ABOUT THE ROLE
As the Mulliner Chief Commercial Officer you will collaborate with the Mulliner & Motorsport Director to deliver the business unit’s strategic commercial direction, including sales and marketing (B2B and B2C) and customer services, as well as contributing to the department’s product vision and definition. The role objective is to cultivate a product and customer service excellence mindset, with a customer focussed framework for delivering outstanding products and customer experiences, while driving growth and profitability.
The Chief Commercial Officer will lead a commercial team in delivering to market products that drive sustainable value whilst balancing the needs and goals of the business to deliver desirable and exciting products.
Additionally, the role will develop plans for new products and services and be responsible for the strategy and execution of all sales and marketing activities while keeping a watchful focus on product innovation, competitor landscape, customer perceptions and market trends. The ideal candidate will be able to thrive in a fast paced environment and have a successful track record of delivering niche vehicle products – performance and luxury – in a competitive and dynamic commercial environment.
MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Developing plans for new products or services based on market research and customer feedback
- Building relationships with key stakeholders, internal and external
- Leading the development of commercial strategies to achieve sales goals
- Responsible for the approval of the company's product pricing and positioning
- Act as a key liaison between internal marketing and product departments
- Developing sales strategies that align with corporate objectives in order to meet revenue goals
- Reviewing financial reports and versus budget analysis to monitor performance against set objectives
- Creating a vision for Mulliner’s future direction by identifying new markets, products, and services that will boost profits
- Creating long-term partnerships with suppliers, retailers, and other external parties to ensure smooth operation of business operations
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
The successful candidate will be have experience at the relevant level gained from an OEM that operates a small volume business arm. You will have a strategic sales/marketing commercial mindset that can anticipate customer needs in a changing, small volume, luxury environment. You will have well established people management / leadership, collaboration and influencing skills that can be utilised at Board level as well as across the networks and high net worth customers for a variety of topics relating to the role objectives.
- Previous experience in a COO or Commercial Director level role with a bias towards strategic Sales and Marketing incorporating competitor understanding and pricing
- People management experience
- Operational management including budgeting, performance reporting, business planning etc
- Experience of market research and analysis
- A degree in finance, business administration or a related field is required (or equivalent experience)
