What you need to know about the role
Working as a Day or Shift Chemist within our Analytical Services department you will be responsible for the operation of a number of analytical instruments both in laboratory and plant based on-line, to ensure the integrity of results reported to the Steelmaking and Blast Furnace manufacturing units in Scunthorpe.
Assisting in defining an analytical route for non-routine analysis and support plant trials you will also ensure that instrument performance and availability targets are attained.
You will ensure your work is completed in compliance with all HS&E requirements in the area on a real time basis.
What we need to know about you
You should hold a level 3 or higher level qualification in Chemistry or other Physical Sciences, supplemented by good GCSE’s in English and Maths. Demonstrable experience in an analytical/testing type role will also be considered.
You should have experience in the use of chemicals, cleaning agents, and the use and maintenance of laboratory equipment. Excellent IT skills are also required.
