Main Purpose of Role
- Deliver high standards of analytical performance whilst ensuring the laboratory meets ISO 17025 requirements (accredited by UKAS).
- Adhere to documented laboratory procedures.
- Subject to pre- authorisation assessment, issuance of reports direct to clients via cclas.
- Perform sampling and analysis to recognised international methods and approved procedures.
Key Accountabilities
- Completion of daily, weekly and monthly routine sampling, analysis and reporting as per laboratory procedures.
- Demonstrate compliance with international and company approved test methods, procedures and quality systems. Essential criteria for ISO 17025
- Liaise with senior staff with any issues with equipment, methodology interpretation or sample integrity and initiate corrective actions to ensure continuity of service.
- Identify improvements to laboratory operations
- Maintain organised and auditable systems of work to ensure compliance with UKAS 17025 accreditation.
- Delivery of agreed analysis to timescales and cost to enable fulfilment of contractual KPI’s and maximise profitability.
- Sound understanding and knowledge of laboratory and analytical techniques/ equipment to promote continuous improvement and provision of quality service to clients.
- Operate at external locations to fulfil client and contractual demands.
- Ensure SGS Lims system (SLIM) is fully operational and utilised to ensure delivery of traceable and accurate results.
- Resolution of (or where applicable referral to senior staff member) of client enquiries in a timely and effective manner to ensure consistency of service delivery and agreed contractual obligations.
How to be a successful candidate
- Must be computer literate in use of word and excel.
- Must have a sound knowledge of chemistry, analytical equipment and methods.
- Minimum of 1 years experience gained in an analytical testing laboratory.
- Operating to defined laboratory methods, processes and documentation.
- Must have sound knowledge of international analytical standards and operational procedures and understanding there-in.
- Effective interpersonal, teamworking and time management skills.
Desirable
- An appreciation of production chemistry.
- Minimum of 1 years experience gained in an oilfield testing laboratory.
- Experience of working within a UKAS accredited laboratory
- Preparation of laboratory techniques and documentation.
