Position Summary:
Bio-Techne is a world-leading developer and manufacturer of high-quality biological reagents and we are seeking a Synthetic Organic Chemist to join our growing chemistry team in Bristol. We are looking for a vibrant and dynamic person to join our highly skilled and experienced team of chemists working on product development for Tocris (a Bio-Techne Brand), including complex syntheses of biologically active small molecules (chemical probes and tools) and novel custom synthesis work for both internal research initiatives and external clients.
Key & Responsibilities:
- Achieve targets of product quantity and quality within an agreed timescale and budget
- Generate, collate, and analyse data on synthesis steps and final products using our extensive in-house facilities
- Generate high quality project reports for internal and external customers and detail work in electronic laboratory notebooks and other documentation
- Communicate effectively with key stakeholders on workload, prioritisation, and progress
- Work in a safe, tidy, and responsible manner, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations
Education & Experience
- PhD degree in organic chemistry (or closely related discipline)
- Related industrial experience preferable
- Detailed knowledge of organic chemistry
- Knowledge of, and adherence to, required quality and safety standards
- High level of personal and independent productivity
- Decision making and problem-solving skills
- Practical ability and analytical data interpretation skills
