Our Client, is part of a world-class supplier of synthetic polymers to industries ranging from paints and adhesives to textiles, speciality papers and plastics. They are the only manufacturer of polyvinyl alcohol in the UK and the market leader in suspending agents for the PVC industry
An opportunity has arisen with our Client for a Senior Chemist to join their Dispersions and Latex Research team, based at their laboratory site in Essex. The team has a well-equipped laboratory, as well as direct access to modern analytical facilities.
Working directly for the Dispersions and Latex Research Manager, the overall purpose of this role is to undertake and oversee research and new product development projects in dispersions. This will mainly result in new products for our Client as well as increasing fundamental understanding of emulsion polymer technologies for longer term developments.
You will be qualified to degree level, with a minimum of upper second class honours in Chemistry, preferably with a PhD in chemistry or polymer chemistry. Considerable experience in emulsion polymerisation, colloid or polymer chemistry is highly desirable. You will need to be a team player able to communicate at all levels; an innovative and determined approach will be required. This opportunity is ideal for a post-graduate chemist with proven relevant industrial experience who is looking for a fresh challenge.
