Job description
We are looking to recruit a Chefs Assistant for our newly opening care home in Westcliff-on-Sea.The care home has 53 beds and has been fully refurbished to a luxury high standard due to open in January 2024.Your key responsibilities in this role will include, but not limited to;Supporting the Head Chef and other Catering staff to deliver all catering services throughout the home, ensuring resident choice, dignity, confidentiality and safety are maintained.Maintaining full awareness of menu content, service procedures and any other relevant information.Delivering prepared food from the kitchen to the dining room or appropriate area, and serving meals to residents in a pleasant and friendly manner.Resetting tables, tidying work areas, washing up, putting away deliveries and preparing the food service areas for the next service.Advising the Home Manager and Care Services staff concerning any changes in a resident’s dietary habits, in particular reporting and noting any instances where a resident refuses food.What we look for in our candidates:Ability to communicate and manage interpersonal relationshipsA friendly and cheerful dispositionTeam player, decisive, self-motivated, proactive, flexible and adaptable individual.Excellent customer service skills and a desire to deliver good service to our elderly residents during their meal times.What we can offer you?Great career development opportunity and ongoing supportPaid 28 annual leave dayCompany funded qualification for the staff (subject to eligibility)National Employment Saving Trust pension schemeAccess to Bluelight Card, Discounts for Carers and access to Company Shop GroupShifts will include weekends.Job Types: Permanent, Part-time, Full-timeSalary: £10.50-£10.90 per hourSchedule:Day shiftWork Location: In person
