Job description
The Chef de Partie is responsible for overseeing and managing their section in the kitchen. They ensure the efficiency of operations through close supervision and direction of the Commis Chefs, and that menu offerings are prepared and presented in a manner that is synonymous with Milos standards.Primary roles and responsibilitiesSupervises all Commis Chefs in their section, ensures they are properly instructed and guided through all tasksDelegates appropriate tasks to junior staff and provides support where neededEnsures their section is always well stocked and has enough Mise En Place prepared prior to servicePrepares menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff, follows recipes as indicated and instructed by ChefsEnsures food comes out simultaneously, at the highest quality and in a timely mannerTakes part in pre-service duties and applicable closing duties, always follows sanitary measures to ensure food freshness and always avoid cross-contaminationRecords any waste correctly, so all products are accounted forEnsures all orders for section are properly listed, checked and ordered, or passed on to Sous Chef, as requiredAlways leaves section clean at the end of each shift, and where required prepped for the next shiftCompletes handover sheet at end of shift with all relevant informationAttends all staff meetings and training as requestedRequirementsA minimum of one (1) year experience working as a Demi Chef de PartieA minimum of five (5) years’ experience working in a high-volume kitchenGood knowledge of culinary techniquesPrevious experience leading a team and mentoring junior staffGood command of English, comfortable interacting and engaging in conversationCOSHH trainedAble to work nights and weekends, in accordance with operational needsAble to work under pressure in a fast-pace, team environmentAble to multi-task, is receptive to feedback and directionJob Type: Full-timeSalary: £16.00-£17.00 per hourBenefits:Company eventsPrivate medical insuranceAbility to commute/relocate:London, SW1Y 4NW: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)Experience:Chef: 1 year (preferred)Cooking: 1 year (preferred)Kitchen experience: 1 year (preferred)Work Location: In person
