The kitchen is open!! Do you have a passion for food? Do you love to cook? We have an exciting opportunity to join our culinary team whilst attending University College Birmingham to gain a recognised culinary certificate. The role - To maintain a high standard of specified work in accordance with the senior chef's instructions To prepare, and cook food ensuring that the highest possible quality is maintained To carry out daily and weekly procedures, including temperature checks, food labeling/dating, and storage To remove any hazards and make safe any defects in the kitchen or its equipment and report any problems to a senior chef To keep high standards of personal hygiene, clean uniform, and professionalism in the kitchen To assist with the acceptance and storage of deliveries and that all relevant company procedures are adhered to To have an understanding of menu planning, the importance of good stock management, and how this enables the kitchen to meet gross profit To be familiar with the opening and closing procedures of the kitchen and carry them out as rotated To keep high standards of cleanliness on the section where employed, also to assist in any job regarding hygiene or cleanliness asked for by a senior chef To be aware of and comply with statutory requirements regarding the workplace such as health and safety, hygiene, fire prevention, employment law, etc To be fully aware of all hygiene control and chemicals used in the workplace What we offer - Apprenticeship opportunity with paid study time Internal opportunities Complimentary onsite parking A meal will be provided for all shifts over 5.5 hours Life Assurance and personal pension plan Employee Assistance Program Exclusive Discounts and many more great benefits The NEC Group is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
