Job description
- Operating cheese packing equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures and production instruction.
- Being hands on in the event of downtime/breakdown - the operator will be required to maintain cheese quality by manually handling cheese at 20 Kg and manually boxing up to 50 Tonnes at 10 Tonnes per hour.
- Undertaking process monitoring, keeping accurate records and taking the necessary corrective action to maintain cheese line efficiencies and packaging quality.
- Understanding the need for and carrying out hygiene and housekeeping within the Cheese Department in accordance with relevant schedules and food safety requirements.
- Identifying and communicating opportunities to improve working methods.
- Knowledgeable with basic IT skills e.g., ability to use a PC/ HMI (keyboard skills) knowledge of Word/Excel and Notes will be advantageous).
- Efficient with problem solving skills.
- Able to communicate and work alone and as part of a Team.
- Aware of basic food hygiene.
- Aware of Health and Safety Procedures and completion of IOSH Working Safely.
