RSPCA Hull & East Riding Branch (Reg. Charity No: 232225)

Community and Corporate fundraising and income generation.

The Hull and East Riding Branch is a local, independent charity working in partnership with the RSPCA. Our rescue centre operating costs are ½ million pounds per year, raised locally to deliver our promise, to rescue, rehabilitate animals from cruelty and neglect and provide them with a better future.

You will be fundamental to the success of our team and our mission; you must have a passion for animal welfare with a customer first outlook. You will actively increase the charity’s fundraising income and engagement by taking a lead for the charity’s fundraising activity streams.

To increase charitable income through donations, fundraising, partnerships, and events. Success will be measured in many ways, but primarily income generation.

You will be responsible for:

o Increasing income through fundraising and events

o Increasing our Branch membership

o Developing a corporate donor and sponsor campaign and sign up donors

o Developing partnerships with the public and businesses.

o Developing a team of local community champion volunteers to support our fundraising.

o Keep up to date with the RSPCA’s wider activity, engaging and supporting fundraising events.

o Fundraising and events can be during weekends and evenings, being flexible with reasonable requests to change times and tasks is a requirement.

o Meeting targets set to deliver income and engagement.

We are a lean and nimble organisation, and the Community Fundraising Officer is encouraged to build a role for themselves and collaborate to help shape our team and approach.

Person Profile

Essential Experience

o Professional fundraising experience

o Experience in a highly communicative role

o Funding applications

o Event management

o Knowledge of legislation governing fundraising – GDPR, Fundraising regulator

Desirable Experience

o Working in the Charity Sector

o Working with volunteers

o Proven track record of significant income generation for example grants, legacies and CSR.

Skills and Abilities

o Resilient - able to deal with complexity, ambiguity, and uncertainty.

o Ability to prioritise workload.

o Skilled in MS Office applications

o Excellent influencing & negotiating skills.

o Full UK Driving licence with less than 3 endorsements.

Why do we exist? Because of three people who wanted to end animal cruelty and suffering met in a coffee house 200 years ago, one of them being the Hull born William Wilberforce. Today we have the same proud heritage, as a partner to the National Society we are hugely proud of the work we do.

Who are we? Our Branch is over 100 years old; we are a local and independent Branch of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. We operate an Animal Rescue Centre for the community and supported by the community of Hull and East Riding.
