Job description
We have opportunities for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join the Charging Assessment Team as a Charging Assessment Officer. This position is hybrid working where you will be mostly based at home but will have to travel to an office for meetings & training especially at the start. The successful applicant will be responsible for completing financial assessments and providing Benefits and funding advice to adults accessing services from Adult Social Care.
The role entails a high level of contact with service users both by telephone and email.
The Charging Assessment Team is a dynamic and friendly team within Adult Social Care, liaising directly with service users and their families to ensure that financial assessments are applied fairly, consistently and promptly, showing sensitivity and tact.

Speak to us about how we might be able to accommodate a flexible working arrangement - whether that’s job share, part time or another flexible working pattern. In addition, although the role advertised may have a “home”, office base or “hybrid” indicated, we remain committed to supporting flexibility around workplace locations. If it works for you, we will do our best to make it work for our service.
About you
You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as being numerate and accurate, demonstrated by GCSEs grades A - C in Maths and English (or equivalent). You should be able to work on your own and as part of a team, understanding your individual contribution towards team goals. Knowledge of the state benefit system is desirable but this is not essential as full training will be provided to the successful candidate. It is most important that you have a desire to learn and enhance new and existing skills you have.
