Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust provides child and adult mental health services, learning disability, wellbeing, older people's and eating disorder services across Norfolk and Suffolk.

This is where you come in! We are seeking to recruit a Charge Nurse to join our team at Willow ward in Ipswich. You may be a Mental Health Nurse, a Learning Disabilities Nurse or a Registered General Nurse with experience in Mental Health. We are looking to appoint nurses who can join our trust and bring with them fresh ideas and fresh ambition.

Willow Ward is a 20-bed acute admission ward for older persons with both organic and functional mental health illnesses. We have an environment that is conducive for staff to focus on delivering high quality, effective and compassionate care to our service users. We are looking for ambitious people to apply for this role who want to grow and progress in their careers as we take a creative outlook on the development of our staff. Through listening to your values, opinions and suggestions, the team supports ongoing learning both internally and externally.

We are looking for someone who displays compassion, empathy and sensitivity in your approach to people who may be distressed or have a challenging manner. In return, we offer a supportive team environment where you will be encouraged to develop your own knowledge of psychosocial interventions and positive health promotion, with first-hand experience of engaging service users within an inpatient setting.

Our primary focus is on collaborative working; placing great emphasis on the assessment/recovery model. Many aspects relating to service user recovery is reflected within the assessment tools the patients and staff use and the philosophy that underpins patient centred care.

  • Nursing degree or equivalent, Dip OT, Clinical Psychology or equivalent

This update service is an annual subscription at a cost of £13 to you. This will enable the Trust to have instant online access to your DBS record, with your consent, and so will remove the need for you to have to apply for this repeat check again.
