Job description
The Faculty of Music seeks to appoint a part-time (0.2 FTE) Administrative Officer - Access and Outreach on a fixed-term basis for 24 months from October 2023.
Oxford’s Music Faculty is one of the largest and liveliest music departments in the country, and an internationally renowned centre of musical teaching and research. In addition to its teaching and research activities, the Faculty also offers an extensive annual programme of recitals, performance and composition workshops, and masterclasses, as well as public lectures and research seminars, regularly featuring international musicologists, composers and performers.
This is a new post created to provide administrative support for the Faculty’s access and outreach activities; working closely with the Faculty’s academic lead for Access and Outreach. This will involve varied duties including organising internal and external meetings and events, keeping records and minutes, acting as a point of contact for external enquiries, organisation of logistics and event delivery and contributing to marketing and communication activity. The ability to work with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and partners including academics, current students, colleges and departments/faculties will be essential, as will be excellent communication skills.
The post holder will be based at the Faculty of Music as their normal place of work, but there may be the opportunity for some remote working, in consultation with the line manager.
