Job description

We are looking for an experienced YouTube Channel Manager to run the day-to-day operations for our portfolio of three Kids YouTube channels. Experience in managing Kids YouTube channels that drive multi millions of monthly views is essential.

The ideal candidate should be an expert in the field of YouTube Kids content, specifically pre-school audiences. They will have deep knowledge of the YouTube platform, YouTube Kids platform and the algorithms, and have the ability to navigate data and performance insights to make the best decisions needed to drive audience growth.

We are seeking an imaginative and multi-disciplined individual who can handle a variety of tasks and duties; they will be commissioning and publishing content based on performance data, audience insight and trends in Kids content, whilst being responsible for the channel's KPIs and strategy.

You will undertake continual analysis of YouTube viewership using various analytical tools to inform strategic and tactical decisions and supply data for determining programming.

The Channel Manager will work closely with the Creative Producer who manages talent, editors and production assistants to deliver best in class productions.

Tasks

  • Be responsible for managing day-to-day operations for multiple YouTube Kids channels.
  • Lead the creative development, commissioning and sign off of content and output, working closely with the production team to deliver audience and commercial goals.
  • Oversee content schedules and monitor content production to ensure timely delivery.
  • Upload content, ensuring adherence to YouTube's best practices.
  • Develop performance updates for the wider team and company.
  • Utilise data analysis to provide actionable insights and growth strategies.
  • Participate in meetings with internal and external stakeholders to present channel activities and performance.
  • Collaborate with other platforms on content delivery.
  • Work closely with internal and external commercial partners.
  • Keep abreast of YouTube platform developments, trends, and training.
  • Optimise titles, descriptions, and keywords for SEO.
  • Write and edit metadata and copy for videos and channels.
  • Conduct granular analysis and reporting of YouTube analytics and other data sources.
Requirements

  • 3+ years experience in Kids YouTube channel management
  • Ideally YouTube Certified, with a deep and current knowledge of the YouTube platform and algorithm
  • Experience working with children’s content essential
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with creative teams, and provide clear direction and feedback
  • Strong attention to detail, with a commitment to quality control and editorial standards
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas in a clear and concise manner
