Summary
The Certified Nursing Assistant/CNA assists nursing service personnel with a variety of patient care activities and related services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients.
The Certified Nursing Assistant/CNA assists with personal hygiene, takes vital signs and changes bed linens.
May serve and collect food trays, provide for between-meal nourishment, and clean, sterilize, store and prepare other supplies.
The Certified Nursing Assistant/CNA has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
Responsibilities
- The Certified Nursing Assistant/CNA relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the Job.
- Works under immediate supervision
- The Certified Nursing Assistant/CNA typically reports to a registered nurse or supervisor.
Education
Required: High school diploma or GED
Certifications
Required: BLS
C.N.A., M.A., P.C.T., E.K.G., E.M.T. or Phlebotomist Certification required. BLS required within 10 days of hire or transfer into unit.
