Do you have a passion for caring for our nation’s veterans? Interested in entering the healthcare field but do not have a current C.N.A certificate? The Iowa Veterans Home has a new program just for you.
We will provide you with on-the-job training along with the resources you need to become certified while still working as a C.N.A and earning C.N.A pay. Openings are for evening shift with core hours from 2:00 pm-10:30 pm and for night shift with core hours from 8:15 pm to 6:15 am. Will work every other weekend.
Duties include performing basic personal care of residents following a plan of care developed by the primary nurse to meet the resident care needs. Will complete documentation and sign off in resident charts and care plans.

Under the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS’s) new vaccine mandate for healthcare workers (published on November 5, 2021 and affirmed by the United States Supreme Court on January 13, 2022), all potential employees of this facility must have received, at a minimum, the first dose of a primary series or a single dose vaccine OR have an approved religious or medical exemption (as determined by the Iowa Veterans Home) OR have documentation reflecting a temporary delay in vaccination (as determined by the agency in accordance with CDC allowances), prior to the start date. Candidates shall coordinate with agency staff to ensure all requirements are met before the individual provides any care, treatment, or other services for the facility and/or its residents.
No specific education or experience is required.
