Oneida Health is currently seeking a full-time Nursing Assistant to work Monday-Friday day shift in the Hospital’s Ambulatory Surgery Unit. This is a nursing support position under the supervision and direction of the Nurse Manager, Charge Nurse, Nursing Supervisor or RN. The Nursing Assistant renders direct care relevant to the age and developmental level of the patient in accordance with presenting complaint and within the scope of job description. She/he is also responsible for ordering and stocking of supplies, linen, managing repairs of equipment and similar tasks for any assigned work areas.

What You’ll be Great At:
- Being a careful observer and data gatherer, documenting information carefully and accurately.
- Performing basic patient care under the direction of the Charge Nurse.
- Having excellent communication skills and routing messages to the appropriate person.
- Providing safe, appropriate, and timely assistance with ambulation, toileting, and positioning.
- Performing ward clerk and clerical tasks as needed.
- Maintaining equipment and performing routine cleaning tasks.
- Assisting with transporting patients as directed by charge RN to various hospital units.
- Using accepted Infection Prevention techniques to prevent and reduce the risk of acquiring and/or transmitting infections by managing all body fluids from all persons at all times.

Your Essential Qualifications:
- Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
- Certifications:
- BLS/CPR (Preferred)
- Experience:
- Nursing Assistant: 1 year (Preferred)
