Job description
The Cerner Operations team is recruiting two Cerner Operations Analysts, band 5, one substantive and the other fixed term for 12 months (covering maternity leave). You will be joining a dynamic and forward-looking ICT Department. Cerner Operations provides services and support to Trust staff using the Cerner Millennium application across three main acute sites including St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, Charing Cross Hospital in Hammersmith and Hammersmith Hospital in East Acton. Close links are also maintained with the Chelsea and Westminster and West Middlesex hospitals who share our domain. Back Office includes responsibility for overseeing Cerner Electronic Patient Record configuration across the whole North West London sector, soon to include London Northwest and Hillingdon Hospitals.
Cerner Operations has three main functions: Back Office manages business as usual configuration changes including clinic templates, correspondence and ward locations across the entire domain (Imperial and Chelsea); Cerner Service provides a second level support service resolving application issues and escalating where necessary for Imperial; and Data Corrections manages user system corrections for Imperial. Support is shared across teams so that no one area of activity is dependent on a single member of staff; however different members of the team will specialise and lead on specific areas of functionality.
You will have the analytical and communication skills associated with the day to day administration and management of the Patient Administration System (PAS) and Electronic Paper Record (EPR) applications. Working with users, you will gain an understanding of their needs and issues, arrive at satisfactory resolutions, provide feedback on progress and report on your actions. The documenting of service standards and procedures will be a key requirement of the job.
You will work closely with external agencies and suppliers, developing and fostering good working relationships, managing work to ensure that the service received meets National and Trust standards within timescales and Service Level Agreements.
The roles will be with the Cerner Operations team, based at Charing Cross Hospital.
The department currently operates a hybrid working model with a requirement to attend the office as directed.
Interviews are to be held on Tuesday 19 September 2023 at Charing Cross Hospital.
At Imperial College Healthcare you can achieve extraordinary things with extraordinary people, working with leading clinicians pushing boundaries in patient care. Become part of a vibrant team living our values - expert, kind, collaborative and aspirational. You’ll get an experience like no other and will fast forward your career.
Benefits include career development, flexible working and wellbeing, staff recognition scheme. Make use of optional benefits including Cycle to work, car lease schemes, season ticket loan or membership options for onsite leisure facilities. We encourage staff to have the Covid vaccination to protect themselves, patients, other colleagues as well as the wider community.
Please note it is an operational requirement to comply with infection prevention and control procedures within the Trust such as lateral flow testing, handwashing and the wearing of masks, according to the procedures in place at any time or location.
As part of our continued response to Covid19 we are still conducting the majority of our interviews virtually.
We welcome discussions about flexible working and encourage a range of flexible working opportunities wherever we can.
