Job Title: Centre Manager
Reports to: Trustees
Location: Coniston Sports & Social Centre
Hours: Full Time (40 hours per week)
Salary: £27,500 rising to £30,000

Background
In the heart of the beautiful Lake District National Park, CSSC is a purpose-built Centre originally opening its doors in 2004. The Charity is administered by a Management Committee who give up their time to support the Centre.
Our objective being to provide facilities for recreation and leisure time of people, by reason of youth, age, infirmity, disability, financial hardship or social and economic circumstances.
We now have a vacancy to lead the Centre team and manage the Centre activities day to day.
Purpose of the role
Coniston Sports & Social Centre offers a range of programmes and services to local people of all ages. Your role will be to manage a team of staff to deliver an outstanding customer experience, promoting sport, income generating activities and lettings, whilst ensuring Centre standards remain consistently high.
Key responsibilities
▪ To manage the staff in accordance with Trustees guidance, facilitating a team environment through personal behaviour and the sharing of experience and knowledge.
▪ Understanding of Centre finances and Budget, ensuring policies and procedures are adhered to, value for money is achieved and the Charity’s assets are safeguarded.
▪ To work with local and national sport governing bodies to promote, drive and maximise local participation in sporting activities.
▪ Proactive planning in conjunction with Trustees and Committee members' vision to maximise revenue generation, without compromising community use and the values of CSSC as a charitable organisation.
▪ Ensuring the Centre grounds and facilities are safe, clean and well maintained.
▪ Proactive planning and marketing of entertainment and Centre events in liaison with relevant Committee Members.
▪ Bar and Kitchen management - ordering and stock control, food preparation and ensure areas meet standards as dictated by the local EHO.
▪ Produce and communicate monthly staff rotas, ensuring fair allocation of hours.
▪ All relevant risk assessments are up to date and staff trained accordingly.
▪ Any other duties as reasonably required by Trustees.
▪ Hours of work to include weekends and evenings.
Skills and competencies
▪ Demonstrate the values and behaviours expected by the Trustees in accordance with CSSC values
▪ Experience of managing and motivating staff.
▪ Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
▪ Entrepreneurial with a can-do attitude
▪ Ability to effectively plan and prioritise
