Our Study Holidays involve more than just a classroom!
Here at Stafford House Study Holidays, we welcome groups of young students from overseas during the summer months to help them improve their English. We offer a varied academic and activities programme, while supporting their entire stay, including airport transfers, accommodation, and meals.
As Centre Director, you’re the glue that binds it all together and makes our students’ stay with us not only educational, but fun, safe and memorable. It will provide you with an exciting and memorable summer, gaining some great experience while you earn.
We have locations in Canterbury, Cambridge, London Uxbridge, Central London, Bournemouth, and Oakham. As this is a residential contract, we’re pleased be able to also support applicants from outside of these areas.
Here’s some of the duties you’ll be involved in:
- Coordinating the academic and activities programme. Managing and working alongside the Centre Management Team, you will be responsible for the high performance and delivery of the student’s experience
- Managing customer expectations. Trouble-shooting any issues that may arise in a professional, calm, and satisfactory way
- Controlling budgets and expenditure
- Act as one of the Designated Safeguarding Leaders for the centre
- Ensuring the health, safety and well-being of all students and your team
- Participating in pastoral duties with our students, including night-duties on a rota basis
- Working up to 60 hours over 6 days per week – as part of the management team, this is a fully immersive position

- From £751.08 to £783.24 per week depending on location, plus pay of 12.07% of total gross salary in lieu of any unspent holidays. Increments available.
Some of what you’ll need to join us over the summer as Centre Director:
- Previous, effective management/leadership experience. You’ll be overseeing the management in the centre, with up to 300 students and 20 staff
- Experienced with safeguarding matters. Previous DSL experience is preferred
- Educated to degree level
- Be a great communicator, with a level of spoken and written English equivalent to CEF level C1/CAE/IELTS 7.0
- Experience of working with young people from different cultures is preferred but not essential
- Effective at managing budgets, customer satisfaction and teams of varying experience
- Attendance at the management training weekend is mandatory (usually in Canterbury in mid-June. Reasonable travel expenses reimbursed)
